Please help make the days amazing for our students. Mr. Hook needs some parent volunteers to help run the games.
Parent volunteers should meet Mr. Hook at Magruder Park at 8:45 am. The individual events will run in the morning from 9:15-11:15. There will be a box lunch delivered to the park, and then the class events will run in the afternoon until about 1:00. We need parents to be lunch helpers, time keepers, heat organizers, and generals. Bring your own water bottle!
5th Grade is May 16 (rain date May 17)
4th Grade is May 18 (rain date May 19)
K/1st Grades are May 23 (rain date May 24)
2nd/3rd Grades are May 25 (rain date May 26)

HYATTSVILLE PARADE AND ICE CREAM PARTY ANNOUNCEMENT
Students! This Saturday, April 29th at 11 a.m. please join your fellow students, parents, and teachers as we march in the 131st Hyattsville Anniversary Parade!
Students wanting to march should:
- be at Hyattsville Middle School no later than 10:45 a.m. and look for the HES banner and flags
- wear super hero themed attire
- feel free to make banners or signs to show your Lion spirit
- Check-in with the HES parade coordinator when you get to Hyattsville Middle to be counted
This year’s parade will step off at 11 a.m. from Hyattsville Middle School (6001 42nd Ave.) and follow 42nd Ave., Jefferson St., and Hamilton St. until it reaches the reviewing stage at Magruder Park. There will be a carnival at Magruder Park after the parade with games, rides, music and fireworks that night provided by the City of Hyattsville.
The PTA will award an ICE CREAM PARTY to the class with the most students participating, so be sure to bring along your classmates and check-in with the HES parade coordinator when you get to the staging area in order to be counted for your class!

It’s the first day back at school after the break…do you really want to cook dinner after getting back into the routine?? No! Then how about some delicious curry, naan, chick peas, lamb…sounds like it is Spice 6 time! Come out and show your support for HES this coming Monday, April 24th all day long. Just let the cashier know that you are supporting HES when you checkout. Delicious food, fabulous friends, and dinner solved…sounds like a quick fix for the end of break blues.
