Advocacy and Outreach

This page on PGCPS website goes over who to contact for addressing issues and concerns:

https://www.pgcps.org/guide-to-addressing-concerns/

You can also consult this policy document: https://www.pgcps.org/uploadedFiles/Cards/area/content/Area%20Offices%20Resolution%20Protocol%20.pdf

How do I resolve any problems with staff?

1.  Email classroom teacher or set up a parent/teacher conference.

2. If not satisfactorily resolved, contact the assistant principal or principal.

3. If not satisfactorily resolved, contact the Resolution Specialist, ESresolution@pgcps.org

According to the PGCPS Area Offices Resolution protocol, the Resolution Specialist will contact the constituent within 48 hours of receiving a complaint. The specialist’s response to the complaint will be sent to the constituent within 10 school days of complaint receipt or the specialist will notify the constituent of the need for an extension. If the concern is not satisfactorily resolved, it will be sent to the Instructional Director. If the constituent is still not satisfied, the constituent has 5 school days to request it be reviewed by the Associate Superintendent.

Administrative Concerns and Policy/Procedure Issues

If the school administration is unable to adequately address an issue or concern you have, you can email esresolution@pgcps.org or call 301-952-6583 – the Instructional Directors (see info below) can also be contacted if the issue needs escalation.
