The PTA works for children. PTA members meet, study problems, support teachers, volunteer in schools, attend workshops and become informed on issues regarding children and education. Studies have shown that membership in PTA provides your child and other children around you with a greater chance of achieving in school. As a PTA member, you are more likely to be an informed, involved parent and/or community member.
HYATTSVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTA OBJECTIVES:
- Enrich school community by engaging more parent volunteers, hosting events, and supporting school programs
- Enhance public image through facility improvements, visibility projects and events to engage Hyattsville community
- Expand communication between and among parents, PTA board members, school faculty and staff
- Celebrate cultural diversity and foster a nurturing school environment through meetings, events and communication
